On Sunday, the Cardinals won their third game in four days at the Giants with a 7-3 victory. Jose Martinez paced St. Louis as he was 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs. Harrison Bader went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Paul DeJong added a solo home run. Luke Weaver allowed two earned runs and struck out nine over seven innings for the win. San Diego won its third in a row in a four-game home series with the Dodgers via a 6-4 win Sunday. Jose Pirela was 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two runs to key the offense. Wil Myers was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Erick Aybar contributed a two-run homer. Jhoulys Chacin gave up three runs (two earned) and struck out eight over seven innings to pick up the win. Brad Hand notched his 15th save.
Martinez has had an up-and-down season but is usually reliable, but hasn’t been quite as good on the road. Perdomo, on the other hand, hasn’t been as good at home in the spacious confines of Petco Park. The Padres offense has been in good form the last few days, while the Cardinals are always capable of putting up some runs on any given day. We’re going with the over in this game.
