Hisashi Iwakuma will also make his second start of the season after he pitched against these very same Rangers in the same game Lewis made his debut. Iwakuma couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead while going for his seventh consecutive win versus Texas. The right-hander allowed consecutive run-scoring singles to Elvis Andrus and Robinson Chirinos with two outs in the fourth.
Even though they touched up the Rangers for 10 runs the last time these two starters faced each other, the M’s are struggling to score runs out of the gates. They combined for just four runs in their three-game losing streak to the A’s over the weekend and the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Seattle.
