Tigers vs. Twins MLB Predictions: Will Detroit snap losing streak? 4/22/17

Tigers vs. Twins Prediction

Justin Verlander couldn’t end the Tigers’ losing streak but will Matt Boyd when Detroit visits the Twins at 2:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers are -110 money line favorites versus the Twins, who have odds of +100 to pull off the small upset at home. With Boyd set to oppose Adalberto Mejia in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

Boyd earned his second win of the season last Sunday when he tossed six innings of one-run ball against the Indians. He struck out three in another quality start, his second of the season. Boyd carries a 3.77 ERA and 2.26 WHIP into today’s contest.

Through two games, Meija has allowed three earned runs on six hits through 6 2/3 innings of work. He’ll take a 4.05 ERA into today’s game, along with a 2.03 WHIP. Meija slides into Phil Hughes’ spot in the rotation, pushing Hughes’ next start back to Monday.

Bet Today’s Tigers vs. Twins Game

OUR PICK: The Tigers are 9-4 in Boyd’s last 13 starts and are 4-1 in his last five outings after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. The Twins, meanwhile, are just 1-4 in their last five home games despite beating the Tigers 6-3 last night. They’re also winless at 0-4 in their last four games coming off a win and have dropped four of their last five divisional games. The Tigers have too much talent to keep sliding and I’m betting they end their losing skid today.
