Jays go meekly against M’s
Toronto ended its home series versus Seattle Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 defeat to drop to 52-79 overall and 25-39 at home. Brandon Drury led the Blue Jays offense as he went 1-for-3 with a double, while Randal Grichuk registered the only other hit as he was also 1-for-3. Rowdy Tellez finished 0-for-2 plus a walk. Wilmer Font took the loss as the opener as he gave up one earned run on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks over two innings of work. Sean Reid-Foley will start tonight for Toronto as he enters with a 2-3 record, 3.00 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 30 innings pitched.
Dodgers blow lead at Braves
Los Angeles scored three runs in the top of the first inning Sunday afternoon at Atlanta but could not do any more damage in what ended as a 5-3 loss. Cody Bellinger provided the offense as he finished the contest 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIS. Justin Turner was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Will Smith went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Dustin May took the loss in relief as he gave up four earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks over four innings. Clayton Kershaw gets the start tonight for the Dodgers as he comes in with a 12-2 record, 2.63 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 141 strikeouts over 137 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 0-6 in their last six interleague games. Toronto is 7-3 in its last 10 road games.
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 43-12 in their last 55 home games. Los Angeles is 44-10 in the last 54 Kershaw home starts.
Prediction:
Toronto has an array of exciting young bats who have bright futures, but this is Kershaw and the Dodgers we’re talking about. Kershaw has been in stellar form as he late, his strikeout rate is up a bit and I don’t imagine life will be easy by any measure for the Blue Jays. Los Angeles has been awesome at home all season and I can’t see this being any different. Reid-Foley is still only 23 years old and hittable. Without much run support, I can’t endorse him or the Toronto pen. Go with LA on the runline.
