Tellez ties it in ninth
Rowdy Tellez tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning with a one-out solo home run before Toronto ultimately fell 2-1 in 10 innings at LA Wednesday night. It was the only hit for Tellez in four at-bats. Billy McKinney helped pace the Dodgers offense as he went 2-for-4 with a double. Randal Grichuk finished 1-for-4 with a double. Tim Mayza took the loss in relief as he surrendered one earned run on one hit with no strikeouts or walks in one-third of an inning. Jacob Waguespack starts tonight for the Blue Jays as he enters with a 4-1 record, 4.20 ERA and 1.31 ERA with 35 strikeouts over 45 innings of work.
Muncy wins it with homer
Los Angeles prevailed 2-1 in 10 innings Wednesday night at home over Toronto as Max Muncy hit a walk-off solo home run. Muncy finished the contest 1-for-3 with the long ball plus two walks. Will Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Corey Seager ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double. Pedro Baez picked up the win in relief as he struck out one and walked one over one inning of relief. Kenta Maeda will start tonight as he comes in with an 8-8 record, 4.18 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 137 strikeouts over 127 innings pitched.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 2-5 in their last seven road games. Toronto is 3-14 in its last 17 interleague games.
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 45-12 in their last 57 home games. Los Angeles is 8-3 in the last 11 Maeda home starts.
Prediction:
Los Angeles finds a way to win at home most of the time even when it’s tested to the finish. Last night was no exception. With a pitching advantage and an elite lineup, I have to take the Dodgers again tonight to finish off the sweep. Maeda can be erratic at times, but he should take advantage of a Jays lineup that sometimes lacks patience at the plate.
