Blue Jays back on track?
The Blue Jays won their second straight game for the first time in weeks with a 7-5 win at Minnesota on Monday. Toronto is now 16-12 overall and 7-5 on the road. The Jays are averaging 5.32 runs per game this season while allowing 4.08 per contest.
Marco Estrada gets the start for the Jays, looking to add to the win streak. He is 2-2 through five starts with a 6.00 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. Through 27 innings of work, Estrada has 23 strikeouts with nine walks and he has allowed seven home runs.
Twins pitching a mess
Minnesota has lost 10 of its last 11 games now following the 7-5 loss on Monday. Of the 10 losses, they have given up at least 7 runs in nine of them. The Twins are now 9-15 overall and 6-6 at home. Minnesota is now giving up 5.58 runs per game while scoring just 4.08 per game.
Kyle Gibson will start for the Twins tonight. He has appeared in five games and is 1-1 through those five starts. He has a 3.33 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. Over 27 innings of work, Gibson has 30 strikeouts with 14 walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays have won five straight meetings against AL Central opponents and eight straight Tuesday games. The Jays are also 10-4 in their last 14 games against a right-handed starter.
Minnesota
The Twins are just 5-17 in their last 22 games against AL East opponents and they have lost five straight against winnings teams.
Prediction:
The Blue Jays have a questionable starter today, but I think Estrada can compete against this slumping Minnesota lineup. The Twins aren’t getting good pitching at all right now. While Gibson has good numbers, he isn’t getting deep into games and his bullpen is a disaster. I like the Jays to win tonight as I think they are just the better team.
The Pick: Toronto Blue Jays +125
