Updated 2012 AL West Odds to Win
(The Spread) – If the odds are any indication it’s a two-team race in the American League West right now.
Oddsmakers currently list the Texas Rangers as -350 money line favorites to win the American League West Division while the Los Angeles Angels have the next best odds at +275. The Oakland A’s and the Seattle Mariners don’t even have odds to win the AL West at this point.
Sitting at the All-Star Break, the Rangers currently have a four-game lead over the Angels at 52-34. The Halos are sitting in second place in the AL West at 48-38 while the A’s are nine games back at 43-43. The Mariners appear to be long finished at 36-51 and 16.5 games back of the first-place Rangers.

The Rangers also have the second-best odds to win the 2012 World Series behind the Yankees. While New York is a 9/2 favorite to win this year’s Fall Classic, Texas is 21/4 and the Angels have the third-best odds at 11/1. The A’s, meanwhile, are 100/1 long shots to win this year’s championship and the Mariners have the worst World Series odds at 500/1. (Although the Cubs, Astors and Padres are also all 500/1.)
As for the 2012 American League Pennant odds, the Rangers are 11/4 and the Angels are 6/1. The A’s, as expected, are 50/1 long shots while the Mariners are 250/1, which are the worst odds among American League teams when it comes to this year’s pennant.
