2012 NL Central Updated Odds
(The Spread) – The competitive National League Central looks to be a three-team race. Let’s check out the odds for the second half.
Oddsmakers have installed the Cincinnati Reds as 11/10 favorites to win the NL Central by the end of the 2012 regular season while the St. Louis Cardinals have the next best odds at 21/10. The Pittsburgh Pirates are 5/2 to win the NL Central while the Milwaukee Brewers are 16/1. (The Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs currently don’t have odds to win the division.)
The Pirates are currently in first place in the NL Central at 48-37 while the Reds are one game back at 47-38. The Cardinals are 2.5 games back at 46-40, the Brewers are eight games back of Pittsburgh at 40-45 and the Cubs are 15 games back at 33-52. The Astros, meanwhile, are a whopping 15.5 games back at 33-53.
The Reds also have the best World Series odds of the teams in the NL Central. They’re 14/1 to win this year’s Fall Classic while the Cardinals are 20/1 and the Pirates are 30/1. The Brewers, meanwhile, are 60/1 while the Cubs and Astros are massive long shots at 500/1.
In terms of the NL Pennant race, the Reds are 11/2, the Cardinals are 8/1 and the Pirates are 12/1. The Brewers are also 30/1 to win this year’s National League pennant while the Astors are 150/1 and the Cubs are 200/1.
