Updated 2012 NL West Odds
(The Spread) – It’s a three-team race in the National League West from here on out. Let’s check out the odds.
Oddsmakers currently list the San Francisco Giants as -120 money line favorites to win the NL West by season’s end, while the Los Angeles Dodgers are +160 and the Arizona Diamondbacks are +400. The Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres don’t have odds to win the division as they’re sitting far out of first place.
Despite what the odds indicate, the Dodgers are currently sitting in first place at the All-Star Break with a 47-40 record. The Giants are a half game back of Los Angeles with a 46-40 record while the Diamondbacks are four games back at 42-43. The Padres and Rockies are 13 games back, respectively, although San Diego is 34-53 and Colorado is 33-52.

The Giants currently have the best odds of any National League team in terms of 2012 World Series odds at 11/1, while the Dodgers are 16/1 to win this year’s Fall Classic. The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, are 35/1, while the Rockies are 300/1 and the Padres have the worst odds among National League teams at 500/1. (The Cubs and Astros are also 500/1 to win the World Series.)
As far as National League Pennant odds are concerned, the Giants are 9/2, the Dodgers are 7/1 and the Diamondbacks are 14/1. The Rockies are 150/1 long shots while the Padres are massive 200/1 long shots as well.
