The Nationals are also just 8-21 in their last 29 games versus a team with a winning record, 4-11 in their last 15 games after losing the three games of a series, and 1-4 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter.

The Nats are also struggling to win games with Roark on the mound, losing all six of his last six road starts. They’re also 2-9 in his last 11 starts overall, 1-7 in his lat eight outings with four days of rest in between, and 0-4 in his last four starts following a team loss in the previous game.
As for Chicago, Joe Maddon’s squad is hot. They’ve won six straight, are 4-1 in their last five games versus National League East opponents, and are 8-0 in their last eight games when their opponent scores five runs or more in its previous game. The Cubs have also been nearly unbeatable in Arrieta’s home starts, going 10-1 in his last 11 outings at Wrigley. They’re also 23-4 when he has four days of rest in between starts.
