Chase Anderson (7-2, 2.89 ERA) will start for the Brewers, while the Dodgers are going with Kenta Maeda (11-5, 3.88). Anderson made his return August 20 after missing almost two months with an injury, allowing one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts and three walks during an 8-4 win at Colorado. He’s had a fantastic season when healthy, compiling a 1.10 WHIP with 89 strikeouts in 95 1/3 innings. He has a road ERA of 3.60 in 45 innings. Maeda has a WHIP of 1.11, while his home ERA stands at 3.18 in 56 2/3 innings. He allowed four earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in six innings in a 6-1 loss at the Tigers his last time out.
Milwaukee has a 66-60 overall record and is 31-32 on the road, while Los Angeles is 90-36 and 51-14 at home. The Dodgers won two out of three in Milwaukee back in June, with the total going under two times.
The Brewers lost two out of three at the Giants including Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat. Domingo Santana was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and a walk to lead the offense. Stephen Vogt hit a pinch-hit home run. Jacob Barnes took the loss in relief. The Dodgers won three out of four at Pittsburgh, winning the series finale 5-2 Thursday. Curtis Granderson, Yasmani Grandal and Adrian Gonzalez all homered in the win. Hyun-Jin Ryu gave up one earned run over six innings to get the win.
Anderson looked good at Coors Field following so much time off, while Maeda is typically very strong at home. With the Brewers offense not doing much at San Francisco and the Dodgers coming off a road trip, the under looks like the right play.
