Willson Contreras (undisclosed) is not in the Cubs’ starting lineup on Tuesday. Cubs manager David Ross declined to get into specifics as to what is ailing Contreras, but it’s not COVID and he should be fine after a day or two of rest. Indications are that it’s a middle-body injury. Yan Gomes will start behind the plate and bat eighth Tuesday night against the visiting White Sox.
