Marlins vs. A’s Prediction
Will Jesse Hahn lead the A’s to a win over the Marlins tonight when the two teams clash at 10:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the A’s are -130 money line favorites versus the Marlins, who have odds of +120 to pull off the upset in Oakland tonight. With Jose Urena set to face Hahn in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.
Bet Tonight’s Marlins vs. A’s Game
Urena allowed three runs — one earned — over 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Astros. Urena didn’t pitch terribly and was victimized by some shaky defense, though Lance McCullers thoroughly out-dueled him in this one. Urena struck out three, walked two, and gave up six hits. He boasts a 1.91 ERA in 33 total innings this season but a record of 1-2. (Rotoworld)
Hahn was charged with four runs — three earned — in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Mariners. It can hardly be held against Hahn that the A’s tonight played what should be the worst outfield any team puts on the field this year; Khris Davis in left, Mark Canha in center and Matt Joyce in right. Hahn, who struck out six, probably would have done just fine had he been blessed with any range behind him, and he certainly would have been able to work deeper into the game if not for the extra pitches he was forced to throw.

OUR PREDICTION: The Marlins have dropped five of their last seven games against the A’s. They’re also 1-5 in Urena’s last six starts, are 0-4 in their last four games against American League West opponents, and are 3-14 in their last 17 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. The A’s have won four of their last five home games, are 4-1 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter and are a perfect 4-0 in Hahn’s last four home starts.
