Angels vs. A’s Prediction
After the A’s won 4-2 last night, will their game tonight against the Angels at 10:05PM ET be another low-scoring affair?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Angels are -117 money line favorites versus the A’s, who have odds of -103 to win again tonight at home. With Matt Shoemaker set to face Sean Manaea in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7.5 runs.

Shoemaker struggled in his final Cactus League start of the spring, letting up nine hits and three runs over four shaky innings against the Brewers. He posted a 5.29 ERA over five starts this spring, which doesn’t instill much confidence in an Angels rotation that is a massive question mark as it is.
Manaea also struggled in a split-squad game recently, allowing six runs (Five earned) on five hits over three innings on March 25 against the Reds. All six of those runs came home in the second inning as Manaea walked five and struck out just one in a disappointing showing. He is coming off a solid 2016, however, posting a 3.36 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP over 144 2/3 innings pitched.
Bet Tonight’s Angels vs. A’s Game
OUR PICK: The under has cashed in seven of the last eight meetings in Oakland, including last night where the A’s beat the Angels, 4-2. The under is also 5-1-1 in Shoemaker’s last seven starts when he pitches the second game of a series and is 6-2 in his last eight outings against division rivals. The under is 4-1 in Manaea’s last five starts and is 5-0 in his last five outings versus the rest of the American League West as well.
