Chase Anderson (8-3, 2.96 ERA) gets the start for Milwaukee, while Cincinnati will go with Homer Bailey (4-7, 7.51). Anderson has a 1.10 WHIP with 110 strikeouts in 106 1/3 innings. He had allowed a total of six earned runs on 10 hits with 16 strikeouts and seven walks over 16 innings in his three starts back since missing two months with an injury. The Brewers have won two of the three starts. Bailey has a 1.86 WHIP with 44 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings. He allowed three earned runs on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks over six innings in his last start, a 6-5 home win over the Cardinals.

Milwaukee is 72-65 and 33-33 on the road, while Cincinnati is 58-79 and 33-36 at home. The Brewers have won seven of the last 10 meetings and the over has hit in eight of the games.

The Brewers are coming off a successful home series against the Nationals where they won three out of four games, including 7-2 on Sunday. Domingo Santana was 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, two walks, three runs and three RBIs to key the offense. Todd Walker hit a pair of doubles and scored two runs. Ryan Braun was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Jeremy Jeffress earned the win in relief. The Reds lost two of three at the Pirates, dropping Sunday’s game 3-1. Sal Romano gave up two runs (one earned) over 5 2/3 innings to take the loss. Joey Votto was 2-for-4 with a double, while Scooter Gennett went 1-for-3 with a walk plus a run scored.

Bet on Brewers vs. Reds

Milwaukee is coming off a great series versus the Nationals and turns to the reliable Anderson to begin this series. Getting to face Bailey, who is having an awful season since coming off the DL, is an added bonus. The Brewers aren’t a big favorite here and it’s a good opportunity to take advantage.
