American League Cy Young Award candidate Corey Kluber (13-4, 2.63 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Indians, while the Tigers turn to Jordan Zimmermann (8-11, 6.08). Kluber carries a 0.89 WHIP and has 215 strikeouts in 160 1/3 innings of work. He allowed two earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and a walk over eight innings in a 6-2 win at the Yankees his last start. Zimmermann holds a 1.55 WHIP with 94 strikeouts in 145 innings. He surrendered three runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and a walk over five innings in a 4-3 win at the Rockies his last start. He allowed exactly seven earned runs in each of the previous three starts before Colorado.

Cleveland comes in with a 78-56 record and ins 42-27 on the road, while Detroit is 58-76 and 31-34 at home. The Indians swept Friday’s doubleheader by scores of 3-2 and 10-0, while they have won seven of the last 10 in the season series. The over-under is 3-5-2.

In the back end of Friday’s doubleheader, Cleveland won its ninth game in a row with the 10-0 victory. Mike Clevenger threw six shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out six. Edwin Encarnacion was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs, an RBI and two walks. Carlos Santana was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Roberto Perez was 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIS. Giovanni Urshela contributed two doubles and two RBIs. Eriz Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Lonnie Chisenhall added a hit, two runs and a walk. Buck Farmer surrendered five earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks over three innings to take the loss. Andrew Romine paced the Tigers offense with a pair of doubles.

Bet on Indians vs. Tigers

Somehow, Zimmermann made it through Colorado without getting completely obliterated. The wind will be blowing in slightly from left field in Saturday’s game, but it won’t be enough to keep him from getting torched again. As for Kluber, the Tigers actually won the last time they faced back in early July. It won’t happen, but even if the Tigers can get to him for a couple runs Zimmermann should be able to do the rest of the work to make the total go over.
