Will Mets make it two-in-a-row vs. Phillies? MLB Predictions 4/11/17

Mets vs. Phillies Prediction

After rallying and then hanging on to a 4-3 victory last night, will the Mets make it two-in-a-row versus the Phillies tonight at 7:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mets are -150 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +130 to pull off the upset. With Matt Harvey set to face Clay Buchholz in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.

Harvey was effective in his return to the mound following an injury-riddled 2016 campaign. He allowed just two earned runs on three hits and struck out four over 6 2/3 innings. Harvey did serve up two home runs to Matt Kemp, but 55 of his 77 offerings were strikes and his velocity peaked at 95 mph. All and all, it was a good debut.

Buchholz allowed four earned runs over five innings in a loss last Thursday to the Reds. He only struck out three batters while allowing eight hits and walked two. Buchholz wasn’t great in 2016, when he posted a 4.78 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP, so this wasn’t a promising debut for a pitcher looking for a bounce-back season.

Bet Tonight’s Mets vs. Phillies Game

OUR PICK: The Mets have won five of Harvey’s last seven starts against the Phillies, are 37-15 in their last 52 games versus their divisional rivals, and are 36-16 in their last 52 road games versus Philadelphia. The Phillies are also 2-7 in their last nine games coming off a loss and are just 4-10 in their last 14 games dating back to last season.
