Astros vs. White Sox Pick
Will the Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox manage to put up 10 runs or more when they collide tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Houston is the clear road favorite tonight, as the Astros are getting odds of -270 to win. Chicago is listed with a money line of +220 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 10 runs. These two have yet to meet this season, but they have hit the under in eight of their last 10 encounters.

The pitching matchup tonight has Dallas Keuchel (9-1, 2.15 ERA) on the mound for the Astros to face Derek Holland (5-11, 5.27) of the White Sox. Since returning from injury, Keuchel has allowed six runs in eight innings of work. On the season, he has 74 strikeouts with 23 walks and a 1.00 WHIP. Holland has been a mess all year and actually fell into a brief relief role last week. He has allowed 66 earned runs in 112.2 innings this year and has 85 strikeouts with 51 walks. His WHIP is 1.55.
Chicago has lost six straight coming into tonight, hitting the under in their last three as well. The White Sox are now 41-68 overall, 20-39 on the road and 53-52 with the over. Chicago is posting 4.27 runs per game this season while allowing 5.06 per contest. The White Sox are being led by Jose Abreu, who has 31 doubles, 19 home runs and 68 RBI. Avisail Garcia has added 13 home runs and 54 RBI, but he is dealing with a thumb injury and is questionable to return tonight.
Houston is just 2-4 in its last six while hitting the under in three of its last five. The Astros are 71-40 overall, 38-15 on the road and 60-44 with the over this season. Houston is averaging 5.91 runs per game this season while allowing 4.38 per game. Leading the team is Jose Altuve, who has 33 doubles, 16 home runs, 63 RBI, 24 stolen bases and a .364 average. George Springer has added 27 home runs, 22 doubles and 66 RBI.
Keuchel has struggled in his return, but facing this Chicago team should help him get back on track. The White Sox really don’t have the hitting to compete with Houston tonight. The Astros have the potential to really light up Holland, but Houston has been somewhat inconsistent at the plate since Carlos Correa was injured. I think they will win with ease tonight, but I don’t see them doing enough to carry the over after Keuchel shuts down the Sox.
