Astros vs. Tigers Pick
Will Dallas Keuchel have a successful return from injury when the Houston Astros hit the road to face the Detroit Tigers tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Astros are the clear favorite in this game, as they are getting odds of -180 to win. Detroit is listed with a money line of +165 at home, while the over/under total has been set at 9.5 runs. Houston has won three of four meetings with Detroit this season.

The pitching matchup tonight has Keuchel (9-0, 1.67 ERA) on the mound for Houston to face Jordan Zimmerman (6-8, 5.81) of the Tigers. Keuchel was dominant prior to his neck injury. His last start came on June 2, but he has 69 strikeouts with 18 walks over 75.2 innings this year. His WHIP is just 0.87. Zimmerman has been shaky for quite a while, allowing at least four runs in four of his last five starts. Zimmerman has 75 strikeouts with 34 walks this season and a 1.56 WHIP.
The Tigers are coming off being swept at home by the Royals. Detroit has fallen to 45-55 overall on the season and 25-24 at home. The Tigers are putting up 4.80 runs per game while allowing 5.17 per contest. Detroit traded away J.D. Martinez last week, who was arguably their top bat. Justin Upton is now the team leader with 28 doubles, 16 home runs and 61 RBI while Nicholas Castellanos has 14 home runs and 54 RBI.
Houston is coming off a series win in Philadelphia and the Astros are 4-2 in their last six. The Astros now sit at 67-34 overall with a 37-13 record on the road. Houston is averaging 5.93 runs per game on the season while giving up 4.20 per contest. The Astros have been without Carlos Correa recently due to a hand injury, but Jose Altuve has been picking it up. He has 32 doubles, 15 home runs, 21 stolen bases and 59 RBI to lead the team. George Springer is adding 27 home runs and 66 RBI.
Houston should have a nice boost in motivation today with Keuchel back on the mound. The Astros have been rolling all season and now should be even stronger with their ace back. Houston has been stronger on the road than at home and I don’t see them having any trouble with this Detroit team. The Tigers don’t have much to offer on the mound or at the plate right now.
