Astros vs. Mariners Prediction
Will the Houston Astros keep on rolling past the Seattle Mariners when the two meet up again tonight at 10:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Houston is favored on the road, as the Astros are getting odds of -160 to win. Seattle is listed with odds of +145 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 9.5 runs.

The pitching matchup tonight has Lance McCullers Jr. (7-3, 3.92 ERA) on the mound to face Andrew Moore (1-3, 6.34) of the Mariners. Moore hasn’t made a start since July 26 and he has given up at least four runs in his last four appearances. Moore has 17 strikeouts with five walks over 38.1 innings. He also has a 1.28 WHIP. McCullers has been struggling in recent starts, allowing at least five runs in his last four outings. He has 118 strikeouts this season with 36 walks and a 1.29 WHIP.
Houston has taken the first two games of the series behind good pitching. The Astros won 6-2 on Monday and 3-1 on Tuesday. The road team has actually won eight of the last 10 between these two. Houston is now 85-53 on the season and 44-22 on the road. Seattle sits 69-70 overall and 37-34 at home.
Tuesday saw Justin Verlander make his Houston debut. He went 6 innings and allowed just one run with seven strikeouts to earn his 11th win of the season. Ariel Miranda pitched six hitless innings for Seattle, but still gave up a run due to six walks. Cameron Maybin broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh with a two-run home run to put Houston up for good. Kyle Seager had a solo home run, his 21st of the season, to lead Seattle.
Pitching is what has carried Houston in this series thus far, but I don’t know that Houston can count on that tonight. Both teams have a pitcher that has struggled in recent starts. The difference will come with the bats, and Houston certainly has the more potent lineup this season. The Astros have been a good-hitting team all year while Seattle goes through its ups and downs. The Mariners are on a down slope right now.
