Twins vs. Mariners Pick
Can the Seattle Mariners do enough to hold off the Minnesota Twins when the two AL foes meet up tonight at 10:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Mariners are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -125 to win, while the Twins are listed with a money line of +115 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 9.5 runs.

The pitching matchup for this game has Kyle Gibson (2-4, 7.23 ERA) on the mound for the Twins tonight to face Christian Bergman (3-2, 4.36) of the Mariners. Gibson has struggled all season, allowing 34 earned runs in 42.1 innings of work. He has 23 walks with 31 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.89. Other than one poor start, in which he gave up 10 earned runs to the Nationals, he has been pretty solid. Outside of that performance he has allowed just 6 earned runs in 29 innings of work. His season WHIP is 1.36 as he has 20 strikeouts and 10 walks.
The Mariners have won the first two games in this series, picking up a 12-3 win over the Twins on Tuesday and a 6-5 win on Wednesday. Seattle is now 30-30 on the season and 19-10 at home. Minnesota is 29-26 overall and 17-8 on the road.
Seattle rallied to win Wednesday’s game, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth to grab the 1-run victory. Mike Zunino hit his second home run, this time a 2-run homer, to get the win in the ninth. He finished with three RBI and scored three times in the win. Brandon Kintzler blew his third save of the season, giving up the two runs in the ninth. Adalberto Mejia lasted five innings for the Twins in the start, allowing three runs and five strikeouts. Seattle had Yovani Gallardo toe the rubber and go seven innings, allowing five earned runs on six hits. Seattle finished the game with four home runs. Along with Zunino’s two, both Kyle Seager and Carlos Ruiz had one. Miguel Sano hit his 15th home run of the season for Minnesota and finished with three RBI.
The first two games in this series have ultimately went to the Twins and I think the same will be said today. Gibson isn’t a pitcher that Minnesota can get a lot from. He gives up a lot of baserunners, runs and doesn’t last long into games. Bergman has been very good outside of one bad day. I think he will continue to have success against the Twins at home. Minnesota isn’t an overpowering lineup and Bergman should see some good run support.
