Padres vs. Indians Pick
After getting a massive upset on Tuesday, can the San Diego Padres get another big win over the Cleveland Indians tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Cleveland is the heavy favorite in this game, as the Indians are getting odds of -240 to win. The Padres are listed with odds of +220 to win, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 9 runs.

The pitching matchup in this game has Luis Perdomo (3-4, 4.71 ERA) going for the Padres to face Trevor Bauer (7-6, 5.24) of the Indians. Bauer has been shaky most of the season, but has shown some flashes in recent starts. His last outing saw him allow just one run over 6.1 innings with three strikeouts. Perdomo has been similar. After a six-inning shutout of the Tigers, he allowed four runs in 5.1 innings against the Braves in his last start. He has 65 strikeouts this year with 30 walks and a 1.44 WHIP.
The Padres took the series opener on Tuesday, 1-0, as a +280 underdog against the Indians. San Diego is now 35-48 overall and 13-26 on the road while Cleveland is 44-38 overall and 18-22 at home.
Tuesday saw some impressive pitching. Corey Kluber took the loss despite going 8 innings and allowing just one run with 10 strikeouts. Trevor Cahill only lasted 4.1 innings, but they were scoreless. His bullpen then pitched 4.2 scoreless innings as well. The lone run was somewhat uneventful as well, as Cory Spangenberg drove in Hector Sanchez on a ground out in the fifth inning.
Like I mentioned yesterday, I didn’t think betting on the Indians with such long odds made sense. Cleveland hasn’t shown the consistency to earn such odds. I think the same can be said today. While Perdomo is not a pitcher to count on, Bauer certainly isn’t either. Cleveland may have the better lineup, but the Indians bats have gone silent plenty of times this season, as was shown on Tuesday. While Cleveland can win this game, I think the smarter play is San Diego.
