Blue Jays vs. Tigers Pick
After another flat performance at home on Friday, will the Detroit Tigers bounce back tonight when they face the Toronto Blue Jays at 6:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Tigers are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -155 to win, while the Blue Jays are listed with a money line of +135 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 9.5 runs. These two have yet to meet this season.

The pitching matchup for today has Michael Fulmer (9-6, 3.19 ERA) on the mound for the Tigers to face Francisco Liriano (5-4, 5.56) of the Blue Jays. Liriano hasn’t had a great first half of the season, allowing 42 earned runs over 68 innings of work. He has 62 strikeouts with 35 walks and a 1.62 WHIP. Fulmer was an All-Star selection for the Tigers, allowing 41 earned runs over 115.2 innings this season. He has 84 strikeouts with 26 walks and a 1.12 WHIP.
The Jays opened the season series on Friday night with a 7-2 win in Detroit. Toronto improved to 42-47 overall and 20-23 on the road with the win while the Tigers fell to 39-49 overall and 23-21 at home.
Aaron Sanchez pitched six innings without allowing an earned run to lead Toronto to the win on Friday and get his first win of 2017. Justin Verlander struggled again with a high pitch count, throwing 114 pitches in just 5.1 innings of work to take his seventh loss of the season. Jose Bautista hit his 15th home run of the season and drove in two to lead Toronto while Josh Donaldson also drove in a pair of runs. Justin Upton had a pair of hits to lead the Tigers in the loss.
I don’t feel good about picking the Tigers right now at all, but I will trust in Fulmer on the mound. The Tigers are 10-7 this season when he has pitched and he has managed to get deep into most of his games, avoiding the disastrous bullpen. Liriano has not been reliable for Toronto, so expect to see the Tigers show some improved hitting tonight.
