According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, the opening odds to win the series have both teams as even, as the Mets are getting odds of -110 to win and the Royals are getting a money line of -110 to prevail. The World Series begins on Tuesday with the Royals having the home-field advantage. These two haven’t met since 2013.

The Royals were 95-67 during the season, 51-30 at home and 44-37 on the road. Kansas City won the AL Central this year and then defeated the Houston Astros in four games in the ALDS. In the ALCS, the Royals beat the Blue Jays in six games. Kansas City is now averaging 4.47 runs per game while the pitching staff ERA is 3.74.

The Mets were 90-72 on the season, 49-32 at home and 41-40 on the road. New York met the NL East and opened the playoffs with a five-game win over the Dodgers. Then they went on to the NLCS and swept the Chicago Cubs, winning the four games by a total score of 21-8. The Mets average 4.22 runs per game while their pitching staff ERA is 3.45.
