New York Yankees DFS SPIN
Jameson Taillon was charged with five runs over 3 2/3 innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Athletics. Taillon was staked to an early six-run lead, but surrendered back-to-back homers to Matt Chapman and Sean Murphy in the third inning, and was unable to escape a bases-loaded jam in the ensuing frame. He finished with four strikeouts and also issued three walks in the brief outing. The 29-year-old righty’s rough outing snapped a steak of nine consecutive starts in which he had allowed three earned runs or fewer dating back to July 6. He’ll aim for a rebound when he faces the Angels on Tuesday evening in a favorable road tilt.
Los Angeles Angels DFS Spin
Shohei Ohtani (hand) will not make his scheduled start on the mound Tuesday versus the Yankees. Ohtani is still dealing with some soreness in his right wrist after being hit by a pitch Saturday. Understandably, the Angels don’t want to take any chances with him so they’ll keep him off the mound until the discomfort goes away. Ohtani will continue to serve as a designated hitter.
Yankees vs. Angels Betting Prediction
The Yankees are 12-6 in their last 18 meetings versus the Angels and are 6-2 in their last eight games in L.A. They’re also 36-17 in their last 53 games overall, are 23-7 in their last 30 games versus a right-handed starter and have won six of their last nine road games. On the other side, the Angels have dropped six of their last nine games overall, are 3-8 in their last 11 home games versus a right-handed starter and are 3-10 in their last 13 games during the second game of a series.
