New York Yankees DFS SPIN
Kyle Higashioka went 2-for-3 and hit a two-run homer off the Mariners’ Luis Castillo on Wednesday. Higashioka dug himself a huge hole over the first two months and hasn’t played a lot since, so it’s not readily apparent that he’s actually been doing quite well of late. Since June 12, he’s hit .271 with six homers and 13 RBI in 64 plate appearances, raising his OPS from .399 to .602. He’s outhit Jose Trevino over that span, but since Trevino seems to have broken out of his slump this week, Higashioka might not make any in-roads there.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Tommy Edman went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in the second game Thursday against the Cubs. Edman had his strong game while hitting second for the first time this year. He’d been hitting ninth recently, so it was a nice change for him. Still, he’ll probably be back down at the bottom of the order on Friday, even though he’s scored 61 runs in 77 games as a leadoff man.
Yankees vs. Cardinals MLB BETTING PREDICTION
The Yankees are 4-0 in their last four games versus the Cardinals, are 52-21 in their last 73 games versus National League Central opponents and are 20-8 in their last 28 games when their opponent allows two runs or less in their previous game. On the other side, the Cardinals are just 2-7 in their last nine interleague games, are 6-20 in their last 26 games when facing a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15 and are 2-7 in their last nine interleague games versus a team with a winning record.
