Jordan Montgomery was tagged for three runs over 4 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Mets. Montgomery struggled with his efficiency in the truncated outing, throwing a whopping 86 pitches (54 strikes), and failing to complete five frames. He finished with six strikeouts and also issued three walks in this one. The 28-year-old lefty has compiled a pedestrian 4.17 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 86/26 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings (16 starts). He’ll face off against the Mariners in a road matchup on Thursday in his final outing prior to the All-Star break.
Seattle Mariners DFS Spin
Logan Gilbert allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday. Gilbert gave up three runs over 5 2/3 innings against the Rangers on Friday. He allowed a base hit to Nick Solak before a wild pitch and defensive error put two runners in scoring position in the third inning. Brock Holt singled to drive in both runs. A walk and a double would plate one more run in the fifth. The 24-year-old right-hander generated 15 whiffs — ten on the fastball — to strike out six batters. Gilbert has been one of the more impressive rookies this season, posting a 4.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts over 41 2/3 innings. He’s in line for a matchup against the Angels in Seattle next week.
Yankees vs. Mariners Betting Prediction
The Yankees are now 36-17 in their last 53 games in Seattle and are 44-19 in their last 63 games versus the Mariners overall. They’re also 8-3 in their last 11 games versus the AL West and with home runs from their big boppers the last two nights (Giancarlo Stanton homered in the series opener on Tuesday while Aaron Judge hit a bomb in Game 2 on Wednesday night), the Yankees look like they could be figuring things out offensively before the All-Star Break.
