CHICAGO (AP) -Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia said the team will activate infielder Chone Figgins on Monday.
Figgins, who batted .267 last season, broke two fingers in his right hand late in spring training.
“He’s a spark plug for our team the last couple of years,” Scioscia said after the Angels’ 5-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. “We’re happy to get him in the lineup.”
The Angels sent third baseman Brandon Wood to Triple-A Salt Lake after Sunday’s game to make room for Figgins.
