Darvish feeling strong in rehab, eager to rejoin Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Yu Darvish says he feels stronger than he did before elbow surgery last spring and plans to be back on the mound for the Texas Rangers by mid-May or early June.
Darvish said Tuesday that he feels really good during his rehabilitation, and that his passion for the game has been reignited. He told a small group of Rangers beat writers that he feels like he could throw 95 mph right now if the team would let him.
The right-hander from Japan says his goal is to start throwing bullpen sessions in March. He’s throwing off flat ground now.
Darvish was an All-Star in his first three years with the Rangers before missing all of last season following Tommy John ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow. Minus him, Texas still managed to win the AL West.
