LOS ANGELES (AP) -Dodgers manager Grady Little was ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the third inning of Saturday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Little went to the mound to talk to pitcher Brad Penny, who had loaded the bases. Home plate umpire Joe West followed and Little began talking to West, apparently about a ball that he believed West should have called a strike.
Penny, who had a couple notable outbursts during games last season, didn’t say anything. Little began walking away and apparently had more words for West, who tossed Little out as the manager reached the third-base line.
Bench coach Dave Jauss took over as Little headed for the clubhouse.
