NEW YORK (AP) -The brother of Yankees manager Joe Torre was moved back to intensive care when he developed pneumonia following kidney transplant surgery.
Frank Torre had the kidney operation Tuesday. Joe Torre visited his 75-year-old brother Sunday at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and said he did not have a fever, an encouraging development.
Frank Torre had a heart transplant during the 1996 World Series, watching from his hospital bed as Joe managed the Yankees to the title. Frank Torre spent seven seasons with the Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies from 1956-63.
