BOSTON (AP) -Angels slugger Vladimir Guerrero left Monday’s game against the Red Sox in the first inning after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch from Boston’s Josh Beckett.
The right fielder was struck on an 0-2 pitch after Orlando Cabrera hit a one-out homer. Guerrero crouched and held his wrist as manager Mike Scioscia came out of the dugout. Reggie Willits ran for Guerrero, who was sixth in the AL with a .364 batting average and second with 12 RBIs entering play Monday.
Plate umpire Rick Reed issued a warning to Beckett and the Angels.
