CLEVELAND (AP) -Infielder Joe Inglett was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday by the Cleveland Indians and optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.
Inglett had been on the DL since April 1 with a strained left quadriceps. A candidate for the utility job this spring, Inglett played in just four games during training camp before being sidelined by soreness in both legs.
Inglett was a pleasant surprise for the Indians last season, batting .284 in 64 games after being called up from the Bisons. The 28-year-old played second base (53 games), shortstop (1 game) and in the outfield (9 games).
Cliff Lee (strained abdominal muscle) and Matt Miller (strained elbow) remain on the Indians’ DL. Lee, who missed all of training camp, is scheduled to make his next rehab start this weekend for Buffalo.
