CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds recalled infielder Jeff Keppinger from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Keppinger had been on the disabled list since April 1 because of a right ring finger that was broken March 4, when he was hit by a pitch from Pittsburgh’s Allan Simpson.
The Reds acquired Keppinger from Kansas City for minor league pitcher Russ Haltiwanger on Jan. 10. Keppinger made three rehab appearances with Single-A Sarasota.
