DENVER (AP) -The Colorado Rockies designated right-hander Bobby Keppel for assignment after their 9-7 win over the Atlanta Braves in 11 innings Sunday.
Keppel had no record and an 11.25 ERA in four relief appearances with the Rockies. He retired one of the two batters he faced Sunday against the Braves.
Colorado purchased the contract of right-hander Alberto Arias from Triple-A Colorado Springs to take Keppel’s place on the 25-man roster. Arias was 1-1 with a 1.53 ERA in five games, two starts, with Colorado Springs.
