Hamlin wins at home
The final race before the Chase for the Championship provided plenty of emotion for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as Denny Hamlin won the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 Saturday night.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Hamlin had odds of 7/1 to win the race before the event, meaning a $100 bet on Hamlin to win will pay out $700.
Hamlin dominated the race on his home track of Richmond International Raceway, leading 299 of 400 laps to get the win and push him to fourth in the cup standings.
Brian Vickers finished seventh on Saturday night to jump from 13th in the standings to eight, passing Matt Kenseth, who fell out of the chase with after finishing 25th on Saturday.
Kyle Busch also missed his shot at the chase. Busch finished fifth in the race, but still only moved up to the 13th spot in the standings, falling just shy of Greg Biffle for the final slot.
Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, and Mark Martin rounded out the rest of the top five.
