Hamlin wins, is the new leader
Denny Hamlin got a win and the points lead on Sunday as he won the 2010 AAA Texas 500 from Texas Motor Speedway.
The win was Hamlin’s eighth of the year and put him 33 points ahead of Jimmie Johnson for the lead with two races remaining in the season.
ddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL gave Hamlin 6/1 odds to win the race meaning a $100 bet on Hamlin will pay out an additional $600.
Johnson still had a solid showing on Sunday, finishing ninth, but the lift of a victory has put Hamlin in the driver’s seat.
With the two races to go Hamlin, Johnson, and Kevin Harvick are the only realistic contenders to win the Sprint Cup. Harvick is 59 points behind Hamlin after finishing sixth on Sunday.
