Bud Shootout Picks
The start to the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series opens this Sunday, February 6 with the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway. This will be the 32nd running of the annual season-opening race.
Bet the 2010 Budweiser Shootout
Twenty-eight drivers qualified for this year’s Shootout thanks to a new qualifying format and there’s a possibility that some past champions like Derrike Cope, Geoff Bodine, Ken Schrader and a few others will make an appearance if they can find a ride.
While every driver would like to win the Bud Shootout, you really can’t count on everyone to give it his all since lots of teams will be working prep work for the season. Setups, drafting and getting their car handling set will all be the focus of most teams, since this will be the first real track time of the year. Very seldom do you see drivers take many chances in this race since nobody wants to wreck their car for the Daytona 500, so don’t look for to much action this Sunday.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. 8/1
The 2009 season was one that Dale Earnhardt Jr. and car owner Rick Hendrick would like to forget since many figured him to have a successful year and he failed to deliver. Unfortunately, what his fans got was probably his worst season since he entered the Sprint Cup Series. Rick Hendrick made rebuilding Junior’s team a priority this year and we wouldn’t be surprised to see his team want to win this race at almost any cost to build some confidence heading into the season.
We don’t see much value in making more than one bet this week, since this race can be so unpredictable. It is next to impossible to really know who is trying to win and who is just out there to work on the things and get some track time.
