Kobalt Tools 500 Picks
This week, NASCAR heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the 2010 Kobalt Tools 500 on Sunday afternoon and after last week’s race, we’re all hoping someone can break Jimmie Johnson’s domination.
Bet the 2010 Kobalt Tools 500
This will be the third race in a row that the drivers will race on tracks that are somewhat similar, with Atlanta being the fastest of the three. So far this year, Hendrick, RCR and Rousch have shown they are way ahead of the competition and the others have shown no signs of catching up. Being the fourth race of the season, teams, drivers, and crew chiefs of those floundering teams better get their act together in a hurry or else we could see more of the same domination from Hendrick, RCR and Rousch.
Jeff Gordon 8/1
Since switching to the COT car, Jeff Gordon leads all drivers with an average finish of 6.0, and also has four top 10 finishes in four starts. Atlanta has been a very good track for Gordon over the years and with they way he has looked thus far, he has a very good chance of keeping Jimmie Johnson from winning three straight.
Mark Martin 8/1
While his teammates have garnered most of the attention so far this year, Mark Martin has gotten off to a very good start. This week, he will have the car that sat on the pole at Indianapolis and wound up finishing second. He also had a fourth place finish at the fall California race. While it has been sometime since he won at Atlanta, we think this could be the week he gets back to victory lane.
Live Longshot
Kasey Kahne 18/1
We have been on Kasey Kahne the last few weeks and we can’t give up on him yet, seeing as how his results don’t reflect how well he has ran so far. In 12 starts here, Kahne has seven top 10s and two wins, which includes last year’s fall race. The relationship with Rousch-Fenway Racing has put this team right up there with the big boys and with a little luck maybe he can finally get a good finish.
