Khane wins the pole
Kasey Kahne was the fastest in qualifying for the 2010 Price Chopper 400 on Friday and he will start up front for Sunday’s race.
Jimmie Johnson is still the favorite to win the race according to oddsmakers at the online sports book BroburySports.com. Johnson has 7/2 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (4/1), Denny Hamlin (5/1), Greg Biffle (7/1), and Tony Stewart (7/1).
Johnson won this event in 2008 and he has six wins on the season, which had gotten him to second in the point standings, 35 points behind Hamlin for the lead. In his career, he has one win at Kansas Speedway with an average finish of 10.3 and a driver rating of 122.6, which is tops for any driver in the race. Johnson will start 21st on Sunday.
Gordon has won this event twice in his career and he is currently eighth in the standings but is winless on the year. Gordon has an average finish of 8.9 on this track while his driver rating is 104.7. Gordon qualified third for Sunday’s race.
Hamlin will start 12th on Sunday. He has never won on this track but has six wins in the 2010 season. Hamlin’s average finish in Kansas is 19.0 and his driver rating on the track is 80.9.
Biffle has one win at Kansas Speedway and this season, he has one win and is ninth in the standings. Biffle has an average finish of 9.0 at this track and his driver rating is 119.6. Biffle will start fifth on Sunday.
Stewart is 10th in the current standings. He has one win on the year and two in his career as Kansas. His average finish on the track is 13.2 while his driver rating is 99.0. Stewart will start 14th on Sunday.
