Allmendinger up front
In a slight surprise, A.J. Allmendinger took the pole in Friday’s qualifying for Saturday’s 2010 Subway Fresh Fit 600 from Phoenix International Raceway.
Even after the qualifying, Jimmie Johnson is still favored to win this race on Saturday.
Johnson is a 3/1 favorite to win the race according to odds makers at the online sports book BroburySports.com. Other short odds to win are Mark Martin (23/4), Kurt Busch (7/1), and Jeff Gordon (7/1).
Johnson won this event in 2008 and he hold four wins on this track in his career. Johnson has not finished outside of the top seven in this race since 2005. At

He has an average finish of 12th and a driver rating of 104.6, which ranks second in the series. Busch is currently sixth in the standings, 122 points behind Johnson. He has one win to his credit this season. Busch qualified 19th for Saturday’s race.
