Updated Sprint Cup Title Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2011 Chase for the Championship has reached its halfway point and there are updated odds as to who will win this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.
According to oddsmakers, Carl Edwards is now the favorite to win the title with 8/5 odds while other short odds to win are Kevin Harvick (2/1), Kyle Busch (4/1) and Matt Kenseth (9/2). The five-time defending champion, Jimmie Johnson, now has 12/1 odds to win.
Edwards is leading the point standings by 5 points over Harvick. Edwards has one win on the year with 16 top 5’s and a series-best 22 top 10’s. Edwards has finished in the top 10 of his last 8 races.
Harvick is second in the standings right now. He does have four wins on the year with eight top 5’s and 17 top 10’s. Harvick has finished in the top 10 of his last seven races, including one win.
Busch is fourth in the standings, 18 points outside of first. Busch has four wins and 14 top 5’s to go along with 18 top 10’s. Busch has finished outside the top 10 in three of the last five games.
Kenseth is third in the point standings. Kenseth has three wins, 10 top 5’s, and 18 top 10’s. Kenseth has placed sixth or better in the last four races.
