Bowyer gets first win of 2010
Clint Bowyer picked a fine time to get his first win of the 2010 NASCAR Season on Sunday as he won the Sylvania 300, and jumped up to second in the points standings.
Bowyer led 177 of 300 laps to get the win and close within 35 points of standings leader Denny Hamlin.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com gave Bowyer 12/1 odds to win Sunday’s race, meaning a bet of $100 on Bowyer will pay out $1,200.
Hamlin finished second on the day to maintain his spot on top of the standings while Jamie McMurray came in third and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was fourth.
Pre-race favorite, Jimmie Johnson finished 25th on the day and he now sits seventh in the standings, 92 points behind Hamlin.
