Hamlin gets win, now 6 points back
Denny Hamlin led just 40 laps in Sunday’s TUMS Fast Relief 500, but he led at the end and got the win to pull within six points of Jimmie Johnson for the points lead.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL gave Hamlin 3/1 odds to win Sunday’s race to start the week, meaning a $100 bet on Hamlin will pay out an additional $300.
Hamlin won Friday’s pole to put himself in good position from the start and though he didn’t lead many laps, he was never out of contention. Hamlin is now six points behind Johnson, who finished fifth on Sunday.
Mark Martin, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch also finished inside the Top 5 on the day.
