Johnson vs. Stewart Odds
BRISTOL, TN (TheSpread) – Few drivers have had the success that Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart have in NASCAR, but which driver will have more success in the Jeff Byrd 500?
According to oddsmakers at online sports book Sportsbook.com Johnson is favored to best Stewart on Sunday as Johnson has odds of -150 to win the matchup while Stewart comes in with odds of +100.
Johnson will start sixth in Sunday’s race while Stewart will begin the race from the 13th position.
Johnson is the defending champion of this event but he is off to a bit of a slow start in the series standings as he has just one top 5 in three races. The five-time defending series champion currently sits 13th in the standings.
Stewart has one win at Bristol with an average finish of 16.9 at the track. His driver rating is 93.8, which is the sixth-best rating of any driver in the series. Stewart is tied for the lead in the standings with Kurt Busch as he has one top 5 and two top 10’s this season.
Johnson has not typically been strong at this track and Stewart is still coming off the disappointment of not winning the last race, so look for Smoke to have a strong run on Sunday while Johnson will be left battling for position.
