Harvick vs. Burton Win Total
(TheSpread) – Kevin Harvick nearly won the 2010 Sprint Cup Championship last season, but can he find a way to win more races than Jeff Burton in 2011?
Harvick finished third in the 2010 standings, just 41 points from winning while Burton finished last of the Chase for the Championship contenders. Despite the difference in success, Harvick won just three races while Burton went winless.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook Sportsbook.com feel that Harvick is the clear favorite to win this matchup as he has odds of -200 while Burton has odds of +147.
Harvick is entering his 11th season in the Sprint Cup series this year. He has just 14 wins in his career with 77 top 5’s and 155 top 10’s. 2010 was his best year as he finished third in the standings and had three wins. In 2006, Harvick had five wins, but was just fourth in the standings. Prior to 2010, Harvick went winless in 2008 and 2009.
Burton has been driving at the Sprint Cup level since 1994. He has 21 wins in his career with 128 top 5’s and 237 top 10’s. Burton has gone winless over the last two seasons and in his career, has had nine winless seasons. His top showing came in 1999, when he won six races.
Harvick appears to be on an upswing in his career, but there is not telling how many wins he will really have a shot at. Burton doesn’t appear to be much of a threat, but could find his way into a win or two. Harvick is the likely winner in this scenario, but stranger things have happened.
2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Futures Odds – More Wins in 2011 (Both drivers must contend in 33 races)
