Keselowski wins and advances
TALLADEGA, AL (TheSpread) – Brad Keselowski needed a win on Sunday to advance in the Chase, and he got just that, winning the GEICO 500.
The race came down to two green-white-checker attempts at a finish, in the second one, Keselowski got a quick push from teammate Joey Logano to the lead and then he held off Ryan Newman over the last lap to get the win and advance to the next state of the Chase for the Championship.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Keselowski had 12/1 odds to win this race coming into the week, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $1,200.
Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were the biggest two names eliminated from the Chase while Jeff Gordon advanced by 3 points over Kasey Kahne. Kahne joins Kyle Busch as the other two drivers eliminated. The eight drivers remaining in the Chase will all be set to even and compete for the final four spots over the next three races.
