Quicken Loans 500 Odds
AVONDALE, AZ (TheSpread) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is down to a must-win for its top eight drivers on Sunday with the running of the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500.
Following this race, the top four drivers in the standings out of the eight that remain will go on next week to compete in the winner-take-all championship race. If any of the eight drivers win this Sunday, they automatically advance to next week’s final race. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kevin Harvick is favored to win this race, as he has 3/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (9/2), Brad Keselowski (5/1) and Jimmie Johnson (8/1).
Harvick is currently eighth and last in the standings of the eight contending championship drivers. He is 18 points out of first and 6 points out of fourth place. Harvick has three wins this year and 12 top 5s. Harvick is a five-time winner at Phoenix to go with an average finish of 11.8 and a driver rating of 103.9, which ranks second amongst the field.
Gordon is fourth in the point standings, 12 points out of first. He has a 1-point lead on fifth place in the standings. Gordon has four wins and 13 top 5s this year. Gordon is a two-time winner at Phoenix with an average finish of 11.3 at the track and a driver rating of 99.9, which ranks third amongst the field.
Keselowski is seventh in the standings, 17 points out of first and 5 points out of fourth place. He has six wins and 15 top 10s on the year. Keselowski has yet to win at this track, but has an average finish of 15.7 and a driver rating of 88.9, which ranks 10th in the series.
Johnson is not among the eight drivers contending for the title. He is coming off a win lasts week, his fourth of the year. Johnson has won four times at Phoenix and has an impressive average finish of 6.3 at the track. His driver rating there is 116.5, which ranks tops for any driver by a wide margin.
