Harvick Picks Up A Big Win

AVONDALE, AZ (TheSpread) – Kevin Harvick got the win he needed on Sunday, claiming the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 title and advancing to next week’s championship race.

View Current NASCAR Odds

Harvick had the top car all day and he pulled away from the field down the stretch to pick up the win and secure his spot in the final four for next Sunday’s race for it all. Harvick finished ahead of Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth for the win.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Harvick had 3/1 odds to win this race coming into the week, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $300.

The real drama from the day came for the fourth and final spot in next week’s race. Ryan Newman bested Gordon by one point thanks to a pass on the final lap of the race by Newman on Kyle Larson. Newman joins Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano as the four drivers that will contend for the title next week. The driver of those four that finishes best at Miami will be the 2014 Sprint Cup champion.
