Kyle Larson is the current favorite at +650, followed by Chase Elliott at +700 and Denny Hamlin at +800. Kyle Busch, meanwhile, is +950 to win the Auto Club 400, followed by Ryan Blaney at +1000. Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr. and Tyler Reddick are all +1200, respectively, while Christopher Bell is +1300.
Auto Club 400 Betting Predictions
OPTION 1: Joey Logano (+1200)
With five top-5 finishes in his last six starts at Fontana, Logano clearly likes racing here. He’s also got six top-7 finishes in his last seven here and while he led for just 14 laps last season, it was still good enough for a fifth-place finish. The one caveat to backing Logano? Ford has won only once in its last 12 tries at Fontana. That said, multiple drivers this past offseason mentioned that Ford should be better on high-speed tracks like this one. I’m willing to roll the dice to find out.
OPTION 2: Kyle Busch (+950)
Busch leads all active drivers with a 9.8 AFP in 23 career starts in Fontana, including four victories, which is why his odds aren’t as attractive as some other drivers today. That said, there’s still tremendous value in the +950 figure given his production at this track. Considering you’re getting worse odds with Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin, who arguably haven’t had the consistent results like Busch, I’ll gladly back the Las Vegas native today. He’s going to be in the mix.
OPTION 3: Austin Cindric (+7500)
Since I handed out two drivers at the top of the odds leaderboard, I owe our readers at least one long shot. He started first and finished 12th in his first Cup Series start at the track last season and it’s never a bad idea to back Team Penske when you’re getting a long shot. He didn’t have a fast car last year, which is why he couldn’t cash in on the top spot. That said, he did set one fastest lap so if the car is better today, don’t be surprised if he’s in it late.
